On 11 and 12 May2021, the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV) and the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), India, with the support of the Embassy of India in Viet Nam jointly organized the Training Course on India's Foreign Policy. This is the first activity implemented within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between DAV and SSIFS.

Attending the opening ceremony were Ambassador J.S. Mukul, Dean of SSIFS, Ambassador Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice President of the DAV and 50 Vietnamese officials, researchers, lecturers, students, and particularly Vietnamese diplomats based in New Delhi, India.

The course is held online. Senior Indian diplomats (Ambassador Mukul, Ambassador Pranay Verma, Ambassador Preeti Saran, Ambassador Sujan R. Chinoy) shared and updated information on four topics including: Foreign Policy of India; India's relations with Viet Nam and ASEAN; Relations between India and its neighbours; India’s Act East Policy and Rising Salience of Indo-Pacific.

In the context of the new wave of Covid-19 resurfacing in India and Viet Nam, although it had to be conducted online, the Course took place successfully, helping Vietnamese diplomats to gain updated information and expertise about India's foreign policy and its relations with neighbours and regional countries.
